RSV Scholarship Instructions

1. Student must have graduated from RMMS and attended RMMS for a minimum of three years.

2. The scholarship award can be used for a program of two or four year college leading to a degree, or a certification program resulting in a state license.

3. The awards will be made for one year.

4. Four awards will be made each year. Two awards will go to New London students and two to RMMS graduates living outside of New London.

5. Students attending public and private schools will be eligible to receive the awards.

6. Students can apply for a second year of the award. The maximum length of the total award would be for two years.

7. In order to apply for the award students must:

a. Be in their senior year of high school and graduating
b. Supply a copy of their high school transcript
c. Provide two letters of recommendation one of which must be from a high school teacher
d. Complete the application form available on the foundation's website
e. Provide evidence of community service
f. Provide information regarding leadership roles they have taken
g. Complete the essay question on the impact of RMMS on their lives

8. Applications and guidelines are available on the website.

9. Applications must be received no later than March 15 in the Foundation's mailbox.

10. Recipients will be notified by April 15.

11. Every attempt will be made to make personal presentations of awards at their high school awards ceremony.

12. Students who have received the award and wish to apply for consideration of a second year of the award must provide:

a. Evidence of good standing within their program
b. A letter of recommendation from a counselor or director of the program being pursued
c. Official transcript of current course work
d. Letter documenting their progress toward their program goal

13. Awards for the second year will be given at the discretion of the awards committee and based on the availability of funds.

14. Letters regarding availability of the award will be sent to high schools in the area each spring. Notices will also be published in the local media.

15. Applications must be submitted to: RMMS Foundation, PO Box 1306, New London, CT 06320.

16. Awards will be for $1000 each.
